Second Announcement
2024-02-27Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the Local and Scientific Organizing Committees,
it is our pleasure to invite you to attend the conference
MODEST-24: Exploring Dense Stellar Systems Across Cosmic Time
From 19th to 23rd August, 2024 in Warsaw, Poland
(Nicolaus Copernicus Astronomical Center of Polish Academy of Sciences).
Scientific Rationale: This will be the 22nd annual international conference in the MODEST (Modeling and Observing DEnse STellar systems) meeting series. MODEST-24 will bring together researchers working on dense stellar systems and create a space for theorists and observers to connect. Our goal is to encourage a friendly exchange of knowledge, ideas and tools among groups working on similar topics and research questions. We look forward to hosting a collaborative and enriching experience for all participants. The scientific agenda of the conference will cover a broad range of topics including but not limited to
• Numerical approaches to modelling stellar systems and their constituents
• Observational properties of dense stellar systems in different environments
• Formation of dense stellar systems across cosmic time
• Stellar multiplicity, exotica, and transients in star clusters
• Compact objects and gravitational wave sources
Conference Format: The meeting schedule will comprise contributed talks and interactive discussions, spanning approximately 6 to 7 hours each day from August 19th to 23rd. Ample time will be allocated for meaningful discussions, smaller parallel gatherings, participant interactions, and the opportunity to explore Warsaw during the summer.
Website: For details on pre-registering for the conference, submitting abstracts, accessing travel, accommodation information, and receiving updates, kindly visit: https://camk.pl/modest24
Pre-Registration: If you are interested in attending MODEST-24, please fill out the conference pre-registration form at your earliest convenience: https://forms.gle/RKTmMEFzac69p9WH7
Your responses will help us gauge the interest in the conference and will help to organise the logistics and the scientific program for the meeting. The limit on the number of participants is 120.
Social Events: We will organise events, including a conference dinner, for participants to engage socially. Further details about social activities, along with information about events and attractions in Warsaw, will be provided on the conference website.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or inquiries about the conference.
Please also feel free to forward this announcement email to colleagues, students or collaborators who might be interested. We apologize if you receive this email more than once.
Best wishes,
